What is the future of immunotherapy
for AML?

Ideally the identification
of different immunotherapeutic approaches

that can be combined with what
we've already learned about how to treat

AML can offer the best hope
for this treatment of this disease.

Trying to combine immunotherapy
with other agents to try to induce

longer term remissions
I think is particularly promising.

But I think we also need to really focus
more on about what are the predictors

of responses for these different agents
and different strategies,

and also try to identify different targets
that cellular therapy products

may be able to go after to really create
longer term remissions

and kind of open up the promise
of immunotherapy to patients who have AML.

I think that patients should be aware
that immunotherapy is

a promising avenue
in acute myeloid leukemia,

although we are still trying to understand
how it can best be used.

And it isn't standard treatment right now,

but because we know that transplant,
which is a type of immunotherapy,

cures patients with acute myeloid
leukemia, ideally the future will involve

trying to harness that immunotherapy
to create

long term remissions or even cures
without the need for a transplant.

So it is something that we're actively
looking at

and trying to understand
how best to utilize immunotherapy

and it will be part of the future
treatment regimen.
