What is some of the most promising research being done to treat CMML?

So I'm really excited to be part of the CMML field because it is really a new era in therapies for CMML, where as before we were borrowing treatments from other diseases. Now we are really highlighting specific therapies for CMML. So it's really moved out of the shadows into the spotlight as a disease on its own, where we have to design specific therapies.

Some of these therapies we've discussed, including Jak inhibitors and hypomethylating agents and what we are trying to do now is combine these drugs and use them together to attack multiple aspects of the disease, including a trial of azacitidine and pacritinib, a Jak inhibitor where we're trying to really affect the disease on a specific CMML specific level.

There's other therapies that are really exciting include things that are antibodies against certain molecules and proteins that are over produced and overactive in CMML, and even immunotherapies that are trying to attack certain aspects of the disease as well.
