Why is survivorship education important? I think survivorship education is important because cancer isn't just about getting treated with an IV or a pill. It's about the whole person and survivorship really is about whole person care. It's not just defining you by your disease and your treatment, but also looking at how the impact of that disease and the treatment affects the whole person. I think survivorship care is really important across the cancer trajectory, which is why I like that broader definition that you're a survivor from the moment you've been diagnosed because you do have to think about what does this mean for me throughout the course of your treatment, not just when you're done with treatment. For many patients, they're never done with treatment. I like that we encourage them to think about that throughout their time as well.
