What are T-cell redirecting therapies?

T-cell redirecting therapy is kind of a broader term that we use, to include both Car-T cell therapy as well as bispecific T-cell engages.

If you think about it, those therapies ultimately do the same thing. They take T-cells, which are cells of our immune system that have the innate capacity to kill other cells. but we repurposed them reprogramed them or redirect them to instead of doing their natural function, which is to kill a cell that has been infected by a virus, for example, is to redirect them against the cancer by giving them the ability to recognize a protein in the surface of the cancer cell.

On the Car-T cell, we do so by you know taking those cells out of the body, purifying, expanding the T cells, and modifying the T cells with a gene. And in the case of the bispecific, we do that by giving a drug off the shelf. That makes a bridge, makes a connection. We call that the medical term, the synapse between by standing T-cell and the cancer cell.

So this is called T-cell redirecting therapy.
