What is a survivorship care plan? A survivorship care plan is a document that can be completed either by a health care professional or by a patient or even both together. There are a couple of tools out there. Recently, there's been some changes in the guidelines with from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Previously in their guidelines, care plans were required for a certain percentage of patients in each oncology practice that was accredited through the Commission on Cancer. In their next iteration of their guidelines, they're actually taking survivorship care plans as a requirement out. We're quite distressed by that because we do feel that an educated and informed patient is our best patient and we feel that survivorship care plans really help to inform patients. In research that we've done over the years, patients have told us they've really appreciated the information that they've gotten from their care plans. So we're hoping to find some space to continue to advocate for patients and health care providers to complete survivorship care plans and to have that information.
