Both CAR T cells and TCR T cells are manufactured in that way. You take the T cells from the patient through a process called aphoresis or cell collection and then you take those T cells or immune cells and you mix them with a virus that's actually typically either related to the HIV virus which is very good at being able to transfect human T cells and that virus then delivers genetic material from the inside the virus into the cell that includes the gene for the CAR or the TCR. That gene gets inserted into the genome of the T cell and then the cell sort of thinks it's just a regular gene and starts to transcribe the RNA and then produce the protein off of that that's encoded by that gene and that protein whether it's a CAR or TCR then gets inserted on the cell surface and the T cell then becomes reprogrammed, redirected to the tumor, in this case the myeloma.
