When is radiation used to treat follicular lymphoma?

Radiation in follicular lymphoma is typically used when there's a localized site of disease.

So if a patient has what we call stage one disease or one site of disease where they have a lymph node involved with follicular lymphoma or an area outside of the lymph node that's involved with follicular lymphoma, but nothing else is, identified to be involved through further testing, then radiation will, you know, is an option or will be used.

There are times that patients receive maybe chemo immunotherapy, in a limited amount and then get radiation. There are times that a patient has a very symptomatic or what we call bulky or very large area that we may radiate as well after they receive other therapy or to help with, more urgent symptom control.
