If I have CLL should my family get tested there is a genetic predisposition in CLL meaning that first degree relatives of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of developing chronic lymphocytic leukemia but we should also consider that chronic lymphocytic leukemia in general is a rare disease so even an increase in the risk of developing Chronic lymphocytic leukemia being a rare disease remain a low probability of developing a cln the other point we should consider is that this disease in the vast majority of cases does not require treatment at the time of diagnosis so there is no clear advantage in relatives of patient with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in getting tested and diagnose the presence of CLL early because we are not basically treating patients at the time of diagnosis this but only if they develop signs or symptoms related with disease progression
