What should someone know when first diagnosed with CMML?
I think one of the most important things is that for many years, CMML was not really recognized as its own entity, its own disease. And I think that really was a disservice to patients with this disease because it is its own disease. It has its own type of problems, its own prognosis, its own treatments now. And so I think it's really important for, patients to understand that it is a very specific disease.
And although it's a rare disease, there's now a lot more research and a lot more therapies developing specifically for CMML.
I think it's also important to understand that there's no, one prognostic system and one prognostic number for each patient and that there are patients whose CMML is something where I only need to see them every six months. And some people who need to be in the hospital because of the disease.
And there's a wide variety of that.
But it's really important for patients to understand that there's specialists who are really focused specifically on this disease and trying to get plugged into that. Those specialists and the patient community around CMML is really important.
