Since 2009, Lindsay has been a dietitian, and in 2014, she began working as a dietitian at a dialysis center, continuing her career in the renal field. During this time, she quickly realized the under-utilization of medical nutrition therapy in the earlier stages of chronic kidney disease. Many patients had never met with a dietitian before reaching dialysis, which was surprising, given the potential for nutrition to slow the progression of kidney disease and, in some cases, help prevent dialysis. Recognizing the lack of dietitians specializing in non-dialysis kidney disease, she took action by starting her own private practice. With the expanded availability of telehealth, the practice now serves patients across the United States. The goal is to spread awareness that nutrition is a powerful tool for preventing and managing kidney disease, and it is achievable for individuals with any lifestyle.
