Nonsecretory Myeloma Event: Clonal Evolution and How It's Possible

Event Description
Some of our Community members began as secreting myeloma patients, only to convert into nonsecretory patients later in their journey. A few of our nonsecreting members have recently started secreting. Can that happen to anyone? What is going on biologically as different clones of myeloma start manifesting in different ways? We get to learn with Dr. Tax Kourelis about this complicated topic. Come with your questions!

Speakers & Moderators

Audrey joined the HealthTree Foundation as the Myeloma Community Program Director in 2020. While not knowing much about myeloma at the start, she has since worked hard to educate herself, empathize and learn from others' experiences. She loves this job. Audrey is passionate about serving others, loves learning, and enjoys a nice mug of hot chocolate no matter the weather.
Dr. Kourelis is an hematologist, internist and oncologist working in the Bone Marrow Transplant Program and the hematology department at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. In 2015, he got his Hematology-Oncology degree at the Mayo Clinic Division of Hematology/Oncology and later in 2016 he got his Myeloma, Amyloid and Dysproteinemia Disorders advanced fellowship.
