What are key targets of bispecific antibodies in Dlbcl treatment?

Dlbcl is a disease where tumor cells express different proteins on the cell surface. Among this protein, one is well known for years and is called CD 20. This has been the target of monoclonal antibodies such as rituximab, obinutuzumab and others that have been developed three decades ago against Dlbcl.

The first bispecific antibodies that are being developed are using the same target molecule, CD 20.

So one of the arm of the antibody binds to the CD 20 antigen on the tumor cells. And again, engage and recruit new T cell to kill those.

So most of the targets are CD 20. There are new classes of bispecific antibodies that are currently in development for Dlbcl that engage another molecule called Cd19, which is also the one that is used in Car-T cells.

And that's another option.

But we are just at the beginning of the story, and we are doing research with other targets. We had a clinical trial engaging another target, which is called CD 79 B, and we foresee all the bispecifics being developed in the near future, engaging different targets on the tumor cells.
