Sagar S. Patel, MD

Dr. Sagar Patel is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology & Hematologic Malignancies within the Department of Medicine at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah. His clinical and research expertise is in Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) and Cellular Therapies, including allogeneic and autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation as well as chimeric antigen receptor therapy for malignant and benign hematologic diseases in adult patients.

Dr. Patel’s clinical and translational research interests focus on the management of potential complications of such therapies including infection, disease relapse, and graft-versus-host disease. He has a particular interest in myeloid, myeloproliferative, and bone marrow failure disease indications. His work includes research and committee collaborations through such national and international organizations as ASTCT, CIBMTR, ASH, and EBMT.
