Hi, my name is Megan Thompson. I am a CLL doctor at Memorial Sloan-Kenton Cancer Center in New York, New York. So I'm thrilled to be here at the ASH 2023 meeting. I am going to highlight a novel treatment option that is currently in clinical trials for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and other B-cell malignancies. So here at the meeting, I'm presenting a trials in progress abstract that really highlights a new clinical trial aimed at a new target to treat patients with CLL and other relapsed B-cell malignancies. So ABBV525 is the name of the drug, and this is a malt 1 inhibitor. This is a first in human clinical trial, and the goal of it is to look at a novel target for patients with CLL, specifically after prior treatment with the standard available target therapies such as a BTK inhibitor and Venetoclax. So we know that despite these therapies having really great outcomes for patients with CLL, there is a subgroup of patients who develops resistance and need subsequent treatment. So this malt 1 inhibitor is actually a target downstream in the pathway of, for example, a BTK inhibitor. So downstream of BTK, and so it targets a different part of what we call the B-cell receptor signaling pathway that's really important for the survival of CLL cells. So the trial is now open and enrolling. It is an international multi-center trial, and so patients with CLL and other relapsed B-cell malignancies, if they go to clinicaltrials.gov, can find a site that is enrolling patients on this trial.
