My research interest is primarily in enhancing CAR technology and understanding resistance mechanisms. I believe the immunotherapies relying on MM patients’ native immune system has limitations given chronic immune cell exhaustion in all settings of Myeloma; CAR, as a synthetic structure that does not exist in nature, enables us to genetically engineer patients’ immune cells to attack Myeloma cells using different cancer-specific targets. Boldy enough, I see enhancing CAR efficacy as the only path for cure.
