Mary Arnett

Mary joined HealthTree in 2022 as a part of HealthTree's team to help expand into all blood cancers. She now works as HealthTree's Volunteer & Community Outreach Manager, helping to engage and involve community members in HealthTree's mission. When she isn't working, she loves being the fun aunt to her 13 nieces and nephews, attending concerts, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and traveling to explore new cities.

Dr. Joshua Zeidner

Dr. Zeidner specializes in the management of patients with acute leukemia, MDS, and MPNs. His research focuses on developing innovative methods to improve clinical outcomes in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Dr. Zeidner is the Chief of the Leukemia Research Program at the University of North Carolina.

Valarie Traynham

Valarie embarked on her myeloma journey back in 2015, and ever since she's been on a mission. As a resilient myeloma thriver, her passion lies in not just navigating her own path but also in illuminating the journey for others. With a steadfast commitment to understanding the intricacies of the disease, she champions education, shedding light on health inequities that often lurk in the shadows. Driven by a profound belief in fairness, Valarie tirelessly advocates for equitable access to top-tier healthcare, clinical trials, and tailored treatments. Her journey as a beacon of knowledge and support began when she assumed the role of a support group leader. Today, she continues to extend her hand as a myeloma coach, mentor angel, and the guiding force behind the Black Myeloma Health Community. Valarie's voice echoes far and wide as she fearlessly confronts the disparities faced by myeloma patients. Through collaborative efforts with healthcare providers, she strives to forge pathways to solutions, ensuring that every individual receives the care they deserve. Marilú Nájera Flores

Marilu Najera is an International Medical Graduate and an Event Operations Manager at the HealthTree Foundation. Her journey through several patient-centered roles has deepened her passion for advocacy, education, and connection. Now, as part of the education team, she is leading efforts to grow HealthTree’s newest community: ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). She organizes patient-friendly webinars with expert speakers and works to ensure that patients and families feel informed, empowered, and supported. Marilu brings empathy, joy, and warmth to every project. Outside of work, she loves to travel, connect with others, and spend time with her loved ones—especially her nephews (being an aunt is her absolute favorite role in life!).

Diahanna Vallentine

Diahanna is the Financial Program Manager for the HealthTree Foundation. She specializes in providing financial help, resources and education for blood cancer patients. As a professional financial consultant and former caregiver of her husband who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, Diahanna perfectly understands the financial issues facing blood cancer patients.

Robyn Stacy-Humphries

Robyn Stacy‑Humphries, MD, is a practicing radiologist from North Carolina whose life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma. After experiencing multiple relapses and undergoing several lines of treatment, Robyn ultimately pursued CAR T‑cell therapy when other options were limited. Nearly a decade later, she continues to thrive—returning to full‑time work, maintaining an active lifestyle, and using her experience to support others navigating CAR T. Today, Robyn leads a global patient support community, offering guidance, reassurance, and hope to individuals and caregivers facing similar journeys. Her story highlights the resilience of patients and the transformative potential of CAR T-cell therapy.
