About
Dr. Lauri Burroughs is developing safer, more effective bone marrow transplant procedures for children with noncancerous blood disorders. These include sickle cell disease, marrow failure disorders and inherited immune disorders. She also treats patients with these conditions. Her research has focused on developing gentler regimens of pre-transplant conditioning: radiation or chemotherapy that prepares the patient’s body to receive the transplanted blood stem cells.
