Hispanic Myeloma Health Partners with Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center

The HealthTree Myeloma Hispanic Health program is partnering with the University of Miami Health System's Sylvester Cancer Comprehensive Center to provide more support to Spanish-speaking patients within their facility.
Due to the language barrier, these patients usually are not aware of financial, educational, or other support resources available to them at their local facility.
Through their partnership, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and HealthTree will host meetings made available to all Spanish-speaking patients and their families designed to teach them more about their disease and provide personalized access to important resources.
Their first meeting will be in-person and occur on January 19th in which they will discuss multiple myeloma basics and University of Miami resources for Spanish-speaking patients, along with a free lunch.
HealthTree Foundation is replicating this program and partnership across the nation, with the following centers being involved in varying capacities:
- Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) - first meeting on February 14, 2024
- University of California San Diego (USCD)
- Mayo Clinic (Scottsdale)
If you would like to partner with the HealthTree Myeloma Hispanic Health program at your facility, please contact Clinic Outreach Coordinator, Sofia Capdevila, at sofia@healthtree.org
If you are a Spanish-speaking patient near Miami and would like to join our first meeting on January 19th, click the button below to know more or call/text us at +1 800 709 1113.
