Is MDS considered precancerous or cancer? Actually based on the current WHO classification, it is a cancerous condition, but MDS is a wide spectrum of disease. You know, there is a low risk disease, high risk disease, and they are treated very differently. So that's why there is so much heterogeneity in terms of, you know, making the diagnosis and also the treatments, but MDS is a cancer. For MDS, you know, it's important for somebody when they have diagnosis to get more reliable information. If they have resources available to seek a second opinion at a center where they see more MDS patients.
