I am a board certified hematologist and medical oncologist. I specialize in caring for patients with hematologic malignancies and specifically myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and aplastic anemia (AA).

I have a strong interest in exploring novel treatment approaches for myelodysplatic syndromes (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) after the failure of therapy with hypomethylating agents. I specifically focus on therapeutically targetting the transcription factor STAT3 in MDS and AML.

In addition, I am an advocate for addressing health disparities across the spectrum of cancer care and I enagage in health disparities research with the use of large clinical datasets such as the SEER and SEER-Medicare cancer registries
