What are some of the more common signs and symptoms of CMML?
Some of the signs and symptoms of CMML have to do with having a low red blood cell count, and feeling tired and having anemia, sometimes with a very high white blood cell count, you can start getting some dysfunction in your organs, like some kidney issues or liver issues, and then the platelet count can be low in CMML or normal or even elevated.
And that also has different symptoms and signs like some rashes or bleeding or some issues with headaches and vision changes. But some people with CMML also experience things like really profound fatigue, which can be part of the disease as well, as well as itching night sweats and fevers.
Or if someone has a big spleen, a spleen that's elevated, it can press up against the stomach and make people feel very full after eating.
So every person is different and there's different types of signs and symptoms that people have. And some people come in just because it was just noted on the blood count. But when people do kind of present it, it's usually with some of these symptoms that have to do with the blood counts being abnormal.
