What is a monoclonal antibody, and how is this drug class used to treat follicular lymphoma?

A monoclonal antibody is one of our treatments. So it falls under a class of immunotherapy. And so they target a protein on the cell. So, our normal cells express proteins. And these lymphoma cells express some of these proteins. In follicular lymphoma, CD 20 is the most common that we target. So a monoclonal antibody is an antibody against that CD 20 antigen. And it is meant to target that on the cell of the lymphoma.
