Is chemotherapy used to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia? Chemotherapy for CLL is a no at this point. And this is very interesting. Even like 10 years back, this was a standard of care. We used FCR in younger patients. We used Benamastine Rituxanin in older patients. But that has completely phased out because of the introduction of the targeted therapy, the BTK inhibitors and the BCL2 inhibitors. And actually, head-to-head studies were done between the targeted agents and chemotherapy, which showed that the targeted agents are, number one, they have much better efficacy, and number two, they are much better tolerated compared to the chemoimmunotherapy. So yes, nowadays we should not be using chemoimmunotherapy for our patients with CLL.
