CD22-Directed CAR-T for Lymphoma: 92% Response, 85% Complete Remission #Lymphoma
Description
Dr. Matthew Frank from Stanford University presents results from a phase 1 trial of a novel CAR-T cell therapy targeting CD22 in patients with follicular lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, and other non-Hodgkin lymphoma subtypes.
THE CHALLENGE:
Current CAR-T cell therapies target CD19 and work well initially. However, many patients relapse because cancer cells lose the CD19 target and become resistant.
THE SOLUTION:
CD22-directed CAR-T cells target a different protein on lymphoma cells, offering an alternative for patients whose disease escapes CD19-targeted therapy.
THE TRIAL:
- Phase 1 (first-in-human) trial
- 26 patients treated
- Seven lymphoma subtypes
- Many patients previously received other CAR-T therapy (high-risk population)
IMPRESSIVE RESULTS:
- 92% overall response rate
- 85% complete remission rate
- Minimal neurotoxicity
- Well-tolerated
