How can child life services help while a child is in the hospital?

We have a lot of additional services that help support our children during their hospital stays.

And these transplant stays tend to be quite long, typically anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks for children. Then they're coming in for a transplant. It takes a village to get a child to a transplant.

So we have people like child life that come in and work with the children. Activities and finding distractions, helping them figure out how to take medicines when they're having a difficulty taking their medicines, that they have to take by mouth, and working with them and overcoming any barriers that they may have to being active participants in their care.

And on top of these child life specialists, we also have play therapists and music therapists and all sorts of other things that come through the hospital that can make this hospital stay a little bit more bearable for these children.
