How quickly does CMML progress?
It really depends on how quickly someone progresses based on a lot of different factors. Some patients are diagnosed basically on the precipice of progressing to acute myeloid leukemia where this leukemia cell number, blast percentage number goes up above 20%. Other patients may never progress and will have decades of life without the disease progressing. But we know some information based on some of the features like if they have that myeloproliferative subtype, they're higher risk of progressing.
If they have certain bad mutations that put them at a higher risk of progressing. And then really importantly is if the blood count, the blast percentage is already elevated, that person is at a higher risk of it going up further, rather than someone whose leukemia blast percentage is very low.
