About

I chose medicine as a career because I love biology—it was always my favorite subject. I also enjoy interacting with people. Being a physician allows me to combine my love of science with the art of human interaction to help change people’s lives.

As a hematologist–oncologist at NYU Langone’s Perlmutter Cancer Center, I see people who have all types of blood disorders and diseases, including blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. I perform bone marrow biopsies to diagnose cancer or a disease affecting the blood cells or bone marrow. I also administer chemotherapy and work closely with our transplantation team when patients need a blood and marrow transplant as part of their treatment.

I am excited about the latest developments in the field of hematology–oncology and the opportunity to provide patients with advanced treatment options that were not previously available. At NYU Langone, we offer the most updated clinical trials for patients who have disorders that are usually difficult to treat. Our team works closely with translational and basic science researchers to bring treatment options from the laboratory into clinical practice.

I value building long-term relationships with my patients and focus on not only the disease but also the person and their quality of life. I partner with my patients and team so we can work together to achieve the best possible outcomes.

I have been involved in basic research and participate in clinical trials for the treatment of leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome, a condition caused by abnormal stem cells in the bone marrow. I am a member of the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American Medical Association.
