Heart Valve Choice and Myeloma Treatment?
AI-generated title
Has anyone had experience with heart valve replacement and myeloma? Wondering how the type of valve used - artificial or cow or pig might affect future options for myeloma treatment. With the artificial valve lifelong anti coagulation with warfarin is required. Thanks.

Planning for Life After SCT: What to Expect?
AI-generated title
Trying to understand what my life will look like living with multiple myeloma. I am in my 3rd cycle of the 4 drug treatment Dvrd. I have no stamina whatsoever. Dr. Said I should limit my what I lift to 30lbs. I'm planning to do the stem cell transplant in late December. What other adjustment should I plan for. Will I regain my stamina 6 months after SCT.? Will I always be restricted to 30lbs lifting? I just don't know what to expect and how to plan for what comes. Relapse in 4-5 years if I'm lucky. Thank you for your insights.

Researching a Neighborhood MM Cluster: Suggestions?
AI-generated title
I am interested in contributing to knowledge/understanding re: how environmental factors contribute to multiple myeloma. Both of my neighbors have multiple myeloma. That's three multiple myeloma households in a row, including me. We live near East High School in Salt Lake City. Does anyone have any suggestions about who may find this useful for research? I intend to contact my water provider to check our water supply. I have also considered a neighborhood survey to see if there are other neighbors with MM or other blood cancers. Any other suggestions?

ASCT with Low Disease: Sharing Remission Experiences?
AI-generated title
Hello, I underwent autologous stem cell transplant after achieving zero M-Spike and less than 5% of my bone marrow having Myeloma cells. Has anyone else undergone stem cell transplant while having a zero M-spike, or with very little Myeloma cells in their bone marrow (less than 5%)? If so, did this help you stay in remission longer, or how long was your remission? I presume the lower the disease is when going into transplant, the better the outcome, as opposed to getting a transplant when the disease is still looming high in the body. Thank you.

Achieving MRD- After CAR-T: 3-Month Timeline?
AI-generated title
Hello, I was wondering how common MRD- is at the 3-month mark of CAR-T? I had Carvykti on July 11 and am waiting on the results of my bone marrow biopsy. So far blood work looks good but I'm nervous about the biopsy results. If I don't achieve MRD-, is that bad? And does that mean it still may be achieved at some point? Thank you!

Sharing My 15-Year Journey With 1q Gain
AI-generated title
In response to the question about 1q gain. As always, every myeloma profile is different & every patient responds differently to treatment. I was diagnosed with aggressive myeloma 15 years ago (October 2009). It was considered so at least in part because of my FISH profile: 1q gain (4 copies). Since 2010 I have been through 5 lines of treatment, including 2 stem cell transplants (2010 & 2018) and most recently CAR-T therapy (2022). After every line I responded well, and my response to the CAR-T continues to this day. Note that I am 76, take 2 hours of physical exercise everyday, eat healthy, nutritious foods, stay positive whatever the circumstances, and I am optimistic about my survival prospects. These factors may be very important in my overall longevity despite the genetic profile & many lines of treatment. Good luck on your myeloma journeys.

Considering a New CAR T Clinical Trial?
AI-generated title
CAR T therapy is a growing option for multiple myeloma patients and investigational CAR T treatments and targets are now in development. Investigational treatments using different targets could help patients who have relapsed after standard of care myeloma therapies including the newest BCMA-targeting immunotherapies.   The QUINTESSENTIAL Phase II clinical trial aims to test the impact of an investigational CAR T therapy called BMS-986393, which targets GPRC5D, in relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma patients.  This multi-center study is open in over 35 locations. Please click the link to learn more or to join the study: https://www.bmsclinicaltrials.com/us/en/clinical-trials/NCT06297226?cid=s_2839283 Funded by Bristol Myers Squibb

CAR-T at Cleveland Clinic: What to Expect?
AI-generated title
I have RRMM, IgG Kappa. I’m in the process for Car-T at Cleveland Clinic, having completed T-cell Harvest (for the second time due to low cell quality the first time around) three weeks ago. I’m waiting for the re-engineered cells with scheduled infusion date in early Nov. My bridge therapy is Selinexor/Dex/Darzalex, which is working pretty well to keep my Kappa protein in check. Lympho depletion is scheduled for a couple weeks out. I’m looking for someone who has gone through Car-T at CCL to share their experience with me, and provide any suggestions/guidance/perspective on what to expect from here on out and how to get through the next phases. The side effect possibilities look daunting. Thanks!
