Marcus Geer, MD

Dr. Marcus Geer, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Michigan Medical School. After earning his Bachelor of Science from Denison University and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toledo College of Medicine, he completed his postgraduate training, including his internal medicine residency, chief residency, and a hematology/oncology fellowship, at the University of Michigan. Board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology, Dr. Geer provides specialized clinical care at the Rogel Cancer Center, focusing on bone marrow and stem cell transplantation, novel cellular therapies, and complex hematologic malignancies. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Geer is an active researcher dedicated to improving the safety and therapeutic efficacy of advanced cancer immunotherapies. His academic work primarily investigates chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapies and bispecific antibodies, with a strong focus on toxicity management and patient outcomes. He has co-authored studies exploring critical factors in cell transplantation, including risk factors for delayed neurotoxicity in CAR-T treatments, and how gut and oral microbiome dynamics impact hematopoietic cell transplantation success.
