Who is the best person to treat my acute lymphocytic leukemia?

So ALL is a very rare disease.

Again, about 6500 cases per year diagnosed in the US.

So in general, these are treated at very big cancer

centers by specialists, and that's where you want to be.

You want to be at a high volume center

that does a lot of leukemia cases with leukemia specialists.

These are not treated by local cancer doctors.

Now, later in the treatment,

sometimes some of these treatments can be given by a local cancer doctor

under the supervision of a leukemia physician.

But these diseases generally have to be treated at large academic medical centers.
